AMG have broadened their line up with the introduction of cars wearing the 43 designation; sitting beneath the full-on sports cars, models like the E43 4MATIC add a sporty touch at a more affordable price point. Having quickly arrived across many models in the line-up, from the GLE 43 to the SLC 43, and here in particular the younger brother to the brutal E63 S that I drove recent. The question is though, what's it about? Let's take a look around at what you get on this car in particular that differentiates it before seeing what it's like on the road. So you've got $160k in your hip pocket and fancy a four-door wearing an AMG badge. Fortunately for you, Affalterbach offers two distinctly different choices, if separated in price by only a couple of grand. In one corner sits the perennial favourite nameplate, the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 S. Mid-sized and with a Herculean 375kW and 700Nm from its 4.0-litre biturbo V8 fed through the rear tyres, it arrives in your driveway with a big reputation and much sonic fanfare for $157,211 list. As a cleanskin, though – those optional ceramic brakes nudge an extra five figures. Temper the C63 S's hunger for wheelspin and it'll sprint to 100km/h from a standstill, says AMG, in just four seconds neat. Quite a large step over to the opposing corner lurks the relative newcomer from the Merc skunkworks, the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E43. Its twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 produces a more modest 295kW and a lower 520 Newton Metre count, and the form guide states it's six-tenths slower in the 0-100km.h sprint. Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi have all recently launched mid-tier performance saloons, in the form of the E43, 540i M Sport and S5. Jaguar too has a cracking V6 powered saloon in the form of the XF S. So how do they stack up? In this video, we test Stuttgart's attempt to answer their own question: is the E63 just a bit too much? The E43 features the brand's latest twin turbo V6 engine, which we like very much. And with power outputs of 295kW and 520Nm - more than both the Beemer and the Jag, it's certainly no slouch. But is it worth sacrificing the sublime comfort that the E-Class offers for that extra performance? For more Mercedes-AMG E43: 🤍 As-tested price: $89,565 Getting to drive the Mercedes-AMG E63 S on a race track in Europe was an incredible experience. But as I don’t live next door to a race track, the E63 can feel like a little too much power for everyday driving. That’s where the Mercedes-AMG E43 comes into play. The AMG “43” range provides a nice in-between level of performance that builds on standard Mercedes cars without going to the extreme track-ready power of hotter models wearing 63 or 65 suffixes. In the case of the E-Class sedan, that means you get 396 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque – more than the base E300 but less intense than the 603-hp top-dog E63. Providing both luxury and sportiness, the Mercedes-AMG E43 is my favorite of the three current E-Class sedan models. But what’s it like to live with every day? Mercedes-Benz AMG E43 стал первой АМГ машиной нового поколения W213 Е класса от Мерседес. Автомобиль серьезный, под капотом не 2-х литровый турбомотор, а biturbo V6 рабочим объемом 3 л. И мощность 401 л.с. По паспорту Мерседес АМГ Е63 должен разгоняться до 100 км/ч за 4.6 сек. Это мы проверим в этом видео, но исполним разгон до 100 км/ч на снежной каше. Еще расскажем много всего интересного об Mercedes AMG E43. Например, как обстоят дела с материалами отделки интерьера, что с эргономикой передних кресел, как дела на заднем диване, что можно провести в багажнике и прочие радости быта владельца АМГ43, такие как эффективная тормозная система, отменная точность рулевого управления, превосходным звук V-образного мотора с двумя нагнетателями, акустический комфорт без пакета дополнительной шумоизоляции и плавность хода немецкого премиального бизнес-седана. Сказать, что Mercedes-Benz E class хорош это не сказать ничего. Е класс не просто хорош в сочетании всех параметров этот автомобиль можно смело назвать лучшим в своем классе и ценовом сегменте. Конечно на рынке существуют BMW 5, Jaguar XF, Audi A6, Volvo S90, японский Lexus и Infiniti и корейский Genesis, но всем им не смотря на их достоинства предстоит делить места после первого, так как в сумме Mercedes-Benz E class является самым высокотехнологичным, сбалансированным автомобилем. В чем-то конкуренты превзошли Mercedes-Benz, но в финальном зачете Ешка сохранила лидерство. Что касается именно АМГ Е43 так это очень приятный автомобиль. Кроме всех прелестей Е-класса инженеры заложили в него напористый спортивный характер, который вполне ощущается полноценной AMG версией авто. Конечно тем кто познал счастье управлять Mercedes-Benz AMG E63, который на старте может вдавить вас в кресло как спорткар, АМГ Е43 не покажется очень уж спортивным, но ни один автомобиль с 2-х литровым мотором не сможет указать на дверь 43-му. Одно из самых приятных достоинств AMG это звук. Моторы, на крышке которых есть заветные три буквы с их отлично настроенной выхлопной системой поют очень спортивно и яростно. Такой звук, как то, что дарим вам Mercedes-Benz AMG E43 не сможет вам подарить даже BMW M5, которая мощнее и быстрее. Баварцы всегда настраивают выхлоп для комфортной езды, а вот Мерседес АМГ любят звук погорячее. В этом видео вы увидите и скорость и услышите тот самый звук. Всё будет огонь.
