In this video we will see how to make Payasam in Tamil. Semiya Payasam / Vermicelli Payasam is served at the end of the meal during marriages and functions. It is a very simple and easy recipe to make, I specially make payasam after making a huge meal because it is effortless and can never go wrong. I always roasted vermicelli and roast it again in ghee for a couple of minutes to make sure it maintains it texture and doesn't get starchy. Semiya Payasam (Vermicelli Kheer) Ingredients Ghee - 1/2 tsp Roasted Vermicelli - 1/2 cup (125 ml) Water - 1 cup Milk - 1 liter Sugar - 1/2 cup Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp Pinch of cooking Camphor (optional) Roasted Cashew nuts & Raisins Method: 1. In a wide pan(Buy 🤍 ), add ghee and roasted* vermicelli. Roast for a minute *if vermicelli is not roasted, roast till its light brown in color and smell a nice aroma 2. Add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup milk initially. Keep stirring 3. Add again 1/2 cup water and rest of the 1 liter milk. Cook till it thickens 4. Add cardamom powder and cooking camphor (optional). 5. Add 1/2 cup sugar at intervals and cook till it reduces and thickens 6. Garnish with Roasted Cashew nuts & Raisins. Serve it warm or cool. Its a Fool proof recipe to make perfect Vermicelli/semiya payasam .. Ingredients Vermicelli – 2 1/2 handfull or 1 cup Ghee-2tbsp Salt-one pinch Sugar -according to ur taste or 14 tbsp Cashew nuts-handful Fresh milk-2 L(full fat) Water-1 L Raisins-10 (opt) Cardamom-5-6 Subudana -1/4cup Water to cook sabudana-1 cup Method Heat a deep bottomed kadai or cooker and add ghee .. Then add vermicelli and fry it till light brown..(don`t fry too much ).. When done keep aside .. Boil 1 lit of water along with milk .. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes stirring occasionally .. Wash sabudana well and cook long with 1 cup water ..one whistle ..Keep aside Then add sugar and salt.. To this add fried semiya and mix .. To this add cardamom powder or cardamom .. Cook for 15 minutes ..then add cooked sabudana ..mix well .. and Switch off the fire and close the pan .. Open after 30 minutes .. Vermicelli - 1 Cup 2. Sugar - 1/2 Cup 3. Milk - 3 Cups 4. Clarified Butter (Ghee) 5. Cardamom Powder 6. Dry Fruits Heat 1 tablespoon clarified butter(ghee) in a pan. Fry chopped dry fruits of your choice in the pan. Move them to a different bowl. To the same pan, add 1 tablespoon clarified butter(ghee) and heat it. Fry 1 cup vermicelli. We could do it with already available roasted vermicelli or roast it at home. Fry till it changes colour and move it into a bowl. To the same pan, add 1 1/2 cup water, 3 cups milk and let it boil. Boil for 5 minutes. Add fried vermicelli. Let it cook till it becomes soft. Keep checking and mixing the vermicelli. Add desired amount of sugar. Here, I added 3/4 cup sugar. There are many varieties of payasams made using different ingredients like broken wheat, rice (basmati) sago, and pulses like green gram dhal etc. semiya paysam 🤍 Ingredients 1/2 bag vernicelli roasted Directions • Roasted Vermicelli / Vermicelli - 1 packet Cashews, Raisins, Almond - 1 cup Cardomom - some crushed Milk - Half a Gallon Sugar- One cup. Add desi ghee/ Claried butter in the hot pan, and add the nuts and saute them till slightly colored. ( tip ; when the raisins ballons) If using roasted vermicelli Add milk, when the nuts are slightly roasted, add sugar, Stir. Add safforn Color. when its hot add vermicelli and boil the vermicelli until it is cooked. When you see the milk is boiled and the vermicelli is soft. Switch of the heat immediately. If you add dates and shironji and other dry fruits it becomes sheer kuruma. If using plain vermicelli. Add vermicelli, and when color changes to light golden brown,Add milk, when the nuts are slightly roasted, add sugar, Stir. Add safforn Color. when its hot add vermicelli and boil the vermicelli until it is cooked. When you see the milk is boiled and the vermicelli is soft. Switch of the heat immediately. Please check the link and subscribe 🤍HomeCookingShow Semiya payasam : 🤍 Our Other Recipes : ரவை பாயாசம் : 🤍 பாசிப்பருப்பு பாயாசம் : 🤍 Here is the link to Amazon HomeCooking Store where I have curated products that I use and are similar to what I use for your reference and purchase 🤍 சேமியா பாயாசம் தேவையான பொருட்கள் நெய் - 1/2 தேக்கரண்டி வறுத்த சேமியா - 1/2 கப் (125 மில்லி) தண்ணீர் - 1 கப் காய்ச்சி ஆறிய பால் - 1 லிட்டர் சர்க்கரை - 1/2 கப் ஏலக்காய் தூள் - 1/2 தேக்கரண்டி பச்சை கற்பூரம் - சிறிய துண்டு முந்திரி, திராட்சை வறுத்தது செய்முறை 1. அகல கடாயில், நெய் ஊற்றி, வறுத்த சேமியா சேர்த்து, 1 நிமிடம் வறுக்கவும். 2. இதுல தண்ணீர் மற்றும் 1/2 கப் அளவு பால் சேர்த்து 5 நிமிடம் வேகவைக்கவும். 3. அடுத்து இதில் தண்ணீர் மற்றும் மீதம் உள்ள பால் சேர்த்து கொதிக்கவைக்கவும். 4. சேமியா வெந்ததும், இதில் ஏலக்காய் தூள் மற்றும் பச்சை கற்பூரம் சேர்த்து கிண்டவும். 5. இதில் தேவையான அளவு சர்க்கரை சேர்த்து கிளறவும். 6. சுவையான சேமியா பாயசம் தயார். இதை வறுத்த முந்திரி திராட்சை தூவி பரிமாறவும். Roast it till it is light brown in shade. Take a small cooker and add the roasted semiya, 2 ½ glass of milk, 1 glass of water , ½ cup of sugar and 2 cardamom . heat it for 2 whistles.
