How To Breed Your Own Fishing Worms..EASY..MONEY SAVER!!!!!

How-To episode for you guys today! In this one I'll show you how I've been breeding and raising my own worms. I don't know about you guys but I spend a lot of money on worms for fishing every month. Not exaggerating when I say I possibly spend $100 a year. I use worms for bait fishing, Bass, and some Catfish species. Since it's so easy and cheap to make a worm breeder box, I decided to try it out and its really paid off only 2 months in. All you need is a container with a lid, preferably one that has latches to keep it closed and prevent your worms from getting out. Some soil, I use Miracle Grow's Nature's Care Organic Potting Mix. And Worms. This $10 investment can really pay off if you do it right. Some key points to remember to make this project successful is: 1.Make sure your soil is always damp and moist. Worms need moisture to survive and keep happy. 2.Make sure they have plenty of food. I use cricket feed from Petsmart/Petco. $4 and will feed them for months. You can use old vegetables too. 3.Chose your soil wisely. A lot of commercial gardening soils and potting soils have harmful chemicals that will harm and kill your worms. 4. Choose your Worm breed wisely. Some breeds like Canadian Earthworms need to be cold and pretty much refrigerated to stay alive. I use big Red Worms and they do fine in warmer climates. 5.It takes time. This will not happen overnight. It took me a month before I started to notice worm eggs/cocoons and little babies. But once they started to get comfortable my box has cocoons and little worms everywhere. My population of 60 worms to start off has tripled in only a couple months! Follow those steps and you should be fine. Breeding and raising these guys is not hard. If you find your worm box isn't producing I can guarantee It's because you have one of those 5 points wrong. So hopefully this can help you guys out and save you some money because it sure did for me!!!! If YOU enjoyed this how-to episode, give it a Like! Worms VS Banana. Timelapse

We have got two aims in growing the worms...The first is the improving the soil in the vegetable garden. The second is the shooting the video. The worms recycle the waste and improve the soil. Shooting our first video, we got the idea to feed the worms bananas. They like to eat something tasty. If we put the peel of the banana,in two hours the worms will gather there. Unfortunately, we don't know the exact number of the worms in this video. Help us to bring our ideas to life and to expand our content. Thanks. 🤍

Which Worms Reproduce the Fastest: Read the Description!

#wormbin #vermiculture #experiment #reproduction REPRODUCTION GAMES TAKING OFF!🙌🏻 Last week we noticed an increase in the worm bin pests and this week it reached a whole new level of annoying. It looks like some fruit flies and fungus gnats have set up shop in high numbers. Finding flies in or around your bin is not a sign of any problem per se, but definitely an indication that you need to bury food better and utilize some additional methods to bump down their numbers. The beetles, pot worms, and mites are greatly reduced after the addition of Neem products last week, but an addition of 2 inches or so of dry bedding over the compost should be very helpful at nipping this fly problem in the bud. I added lots of bedding, some garden lime and a feeding of bell peppers which are always a hit with my worms. The Euros are doing well, the reds are laying cocoons like crazy AND the African Night Crawlers have a wisp and cocoons as well. From that standpoint I couldn’t be happier. We started this series on December 24th 2018 and due to starting with a very sterile environment it took the worms over 2 months to start doing much of anything. The addition of some moist “living” bedding is what I think really sped up the process for us. WHAT DO I DO FOR PESTS IN THE WORM BIN: 1. Relax and don’t panic. 2. Add a thick layer of dry bedding to the bin. 3. Set out some fruit fly traps using apple cider vinegar and a touch of dish soap. 4. Add extra buffer (eggshell or garden lime are my go-to’s). 5. How Do Worms Turn Garbage into Compost?

This week Reactions dug our hands into some earthworm science. Some pretty useful chemistry comes out of these little critters in the form of compost. If you’re enjoying some tasty food today that has at least one ingredient that was farmed somewhere, you probably owe a little thanks to earthworms. How is it that these detritivores – literally dirt eaters – turn what humans find inedible into beloved compost? After the biology and physics of swallowing and “chewing”, like us it’s all chemistry for digestion. But earthworms have an extra enzyme that allows them to munch through cellulose, the ultimate fiber of that makes tree bark a non-starter in human diets. Yet all this powerful chemistry means not everyone sees earthworms as the greatest creature to crawl – find out all the dirt in this video. All About Worms

25.11.2021 #ngscience #worms A fun video all about the three main groups of worms. Be sure to head to for a range of related resources for students and teachers. Worm is the general name given to animals from three different groups – flatworms, roundworms and segmented worms. Worms are multicellular and typically have a long tube-like body and no limbs. All worms have bilateral symmetry. Organisms with bilateral symmetry have a body with a single plane of symmetry which divides it into two mirror images. Most worms reproduce sexually, although some can reproduce asexually. Flatworms, also called platyhelminths, are simple worms with a soft, flat body. They can be found in salt water, fresh water, and damp land environments. Many flatworms are parasitic. A parasitic organism lives in or on another organism. Most flatworms have a body cavity with only one opening. Food enters the body opening and waste leaves through the same opening. Roundworms, also called nematodes, are more advanced than flatworms. They have a tubular digestive systems with openings at both ends. Roundworms live in a range of different environments. Many are parasitic and can cause illnesses and diseases in other organisms. Segmented worms, also called annelids, are the most advanced of the three worm groups. They get their name from their bodies which are divided into segments. Segmented worms have organ systems including circulatory, digestive and nervous systems. Segmented worms can be found in most wet environments, including underground and in the ocean. Common segmented worms include earthworms, leeches and bristle worms.

Once the rear part of the body has moved forward, the earthworm retracts the setae extended from its front part and inserts the setae from its rear part into the soil.
