Aside from being able to recover partitions and entire disks, you can mount those images in Windows explorer for easy single file recovery. So if you backed up your PC, and you just want to recover a single file, you don't have to restore your entire PC for it, you can just pull that one file out. The full version, allows you to do full backups, Incremental and differential images as well, live or scheduled. You are allowed to actually boot your backup up in a virtual machine at the same time. If you are running a tech shop, you can restore images to dissimilar hardware using Macrium ReDeploy in just about any version of windows. Macrium Reflect Clone SSD, does an amazing job and yes it will show you how to clone M.2 SSD to new M.2 SSD and will help you migrate HDD to SSD your hard disk to SSD. During this process, you notice I clone the entire drive, not portions of it, because each portion is as important as the next. One of the partitions is the Windows Boot Manager, also known as the UEFI partition, the other is your C drive and all the Data on it and the finally the Recovery Partition. The recovery partition is where windows stores save points and portions to allow you to repair issues. This will copy your drive and will copy partitions. BitLocker Drive Encryption is a data protection feature that integrates with the operating system and addresses the threats of data theft or exposure from lost, stolen, or inappropriately decommissioned computers. Hey Guys! I am back with another tutorial and TODAY, we are talking ALL THINGS M.2 NVME SSD's. From cloning, replacing, installing, enclosures, extending / moving partitions, to everything in between! If you have ANY questions or concerns, comment down below. Here is what you are going to need: NOTE: You are going to want to make sure that BITLOCKER is DISABLED before performing this procedure. If it is ENABLED before the clone, you might have an issue with extending the partitions later on. So make sure BITLOCKER is DISABLED. You can disable it by going into Privacy and Security - Device Encryption - Set it to OFF. Remember, DO NOT erase or do anything with your original drive until you are FULLY DONE WITH THIS PROCEDURE. That way, if you do run into an issue, you can stick your old drive back in and try again. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for the support. Here are three options to edit partitions on target SSD, select one of them based on your needs. Click next to continue 6. Then it will provide instruction on how to boot from the destination SSD, and click finish. 7. Next, click Apply, preview the virtual result then click Proceed to execute pending operations. Just wait for a short time, and it will be finished. Then you can boot from your new SSD now. In this video, I use the most recent version of Macrium Reflect Free to clone Windows from a 1 TB hard drive to a 360 GB M.2 SSD, and keep it bootable. This is an update to a two-year old video (link below), in which I not only clone all six partitions, but I also complete the process of wiping the hard drive. I answer some frequently asked questions that arose from my previous video including showing the size of the rescue disk contents, and the procedure for going from a smaller hard drive to a larger SSD. I start with an out-of-the-box Dell Inspiron 5570 laptop in which I've already installed a brand new 360 GB M.2 SSD module. Disclaimer: This video was created specifically with the Dell Inspiron 5570 in mind, so this procedure may not work for all computers. At a high level, you need to make sure that your PC or laptop has a way to change the boot sequence to the SSD drive. Since I'll be showing you how to completely erase the contents of the hard drive, MAKE SURE to take every precaution before cloning, including 1) backing up any critical data, 2) creating a rescue disk and 3) creating an image of the original 1 TB drive. I don't want you to be stuck without Windows in case something goes wrong. Please check to see if you have bitlocker encryption turned on for your system! Thanks to Viral Soni: I found that it was due to the location of the recovery partition WINRETOOLS had changed due to the reordering. To check if this is the problem run the command - "reagentc /info" at a command prompt as Admin. Running the original HDD you will likely see something like: reagentc /info Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration Information: Windows RE status: Enabled Windows RE location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE Boot Configuration Data (BCD) identifier: [identifier] If you have the same problem as me, then you will see this when you run the same command on the SSD: Windows RE status: Disabled If so, then I believe that windows has disabled the recovery options because it couldn't find the recovery partition. The resolution is to point to the new windows RE location using below command: reagentc /setreimage /path \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE where the path is the same as your working HDD, but partition1 is replaced with partition2, partition3 or as necessary, then attempt: reagentc /enable If all is well you will see REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful after each command. - ► A great tip from Wild Tangent The trick with NVMe SSDs is getting Windows to realize the fact it has NVMe drivers by first booting up the machine on the original drive and initializing/formatting the blank NVMe, and THEN you shutdown and image it. If your system uses Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) or Intel RAID for the SATA drive, you MUST disable that first before imaging. - ►If you run into a problem with cloning an Alienware Aurora R7 which has RAID, here is a solution thanks to Roots Bey: Drivers come automatically installed as RAID. VERY IMPORTANT: First you need to disable Intel Optane before removing it so you can install the M.2 drive. What I did was your clone process in video. When I was done, I unplugged the HDD. Hit F2 to switch BIOS. Then switch SATA from RAID to AHCI. That's what wouldn't work because I cloned the HDD with RAID on. Here is the fix: Keep RAID on and restart. Keep the HDD unplugged. Hit F12 and select Device Configuration. Select Samsung non RAID. Go back to F12 screen hitting ESC. Select to boot from Samsung 970. Then I did this process: 🤍 I restarted a few times and was in awe. Your system switched from RAID to AHCI. Problem was when I plugged HDD back in and it wouldn't boot because it was not BOOT priority and wouldn't switch, even though my OS was my Samsung SSD. The fix: Hit F12. Select Samsung 970 M.2 drive to boot from. It works as if HDD wasn't plugged in. KEY STEP is to follow the the end of your video by FORMATTING YOUR HDD. Cloning a hard drive or SSD (solid state drive) can be worrying if you have never done it before, but it Is now incredibly easy to do with todays modern operating systems and easy to use programs. Years ago, it was difficult to clone a hard drive, but today it is so easy that a child could do it. The software used in this video is called AOMEI Backupper, is completely free, although you might have to enter your email address - 🤍 This is definitely the easiest way of cloning a hard drive. This is the process for cloning a drive using the Acronis True Image software included in our Kingston SSD Bundle Kits. Before we begin, we want to ensure our SSD is properly connected to your system. You did not get the Bundle Kit that included Acronis? Need to clone on a Mac? Check out the videos in this playlist: 🤍 Desktop For Desktop users, you can install your Kingston SSD in your system before the cloning process. For help with installation, please refer to your system's user manual, or view on of our Step-By-Step SSD desktop installation videos below: Dell Desktop PC: 🤍 Desktop PC, not model specific: 🤍 Notebook/Laptop For notebook users, install your New Kingston SSD into the USB enclosure that came with your bundle kit. Connect the enclosure to your notebook before starting the cloning process. If you did get the bundle kit you'll need to obtain a USB SATA enclosure and install you SSD inside it before proceeding. Installation The first thing we'll need to do is download the Acronis software. To do that visit 🤍 and click the "Download Acronis" link to start the download. Once this is finished, locate the Acronis True Image Application and double-click the file to begin the installation. Click on the Install button to proceed. Once the installation is complete, click on "Start Application". After accepting the License agreement, you'll be asked to sign into your Acronis Account. If you do not have an account, click on the "Create Account" link to get started. You'll need to provide your name, Email address, and a password. Once you've entered this information, click on the "Create Account" Button. You'll be sent an email to confirm your account was created. Here you'll be asked to enter in the Activation key that was included in your bundle kit. Now that the Acronis setup is complete you can proceed to the Cloning process. Cloning Under Tools, select "Clone Disk" and the Clone Disk wizard will appear to guide you through the process. Select "Automatic" and click "Next" to continue. Here you will choose the source disk, or the disk your Operating system is on. It's very important to make sure you're selecting the correct source disk. Using the wrong source disk could result in permanent data loss, and you definitely don't want that. Once you've checked and double-checked that you have the proper drive selected as your source disk, click "Next" to continue. Here you're going to want to choose your new Kingston SSD as the destination disk. Once you have it selected, click "Next" to continue. A summary screen will now appear displaying the new partition structure of the SSD drive. The original partition size will be automatically scaled based on the new SSD size. For example, if the new drive is smaller in size than the original hard drive, the partitions will shrink accordingly. If the new drive is larger than the original hard drive, then the partitions will be enlarged proportionally. Select Proceed to continue. At this point you're going to need to restart your computer so the Cloning process can continue. Using your SSD Now that the cloning process is complete, you are now ready to use your new solid state drive. For Desktop users, your system will be configured with two bootable devices. You must enter your system's BIOS and set the Boot priority so that the SSD will be the first device the system will boot from. For notebook users, you are now ready to remove the drive from the USB enclosure and install the new SSD into your notebook.
