Also referred to as Oslo Gardermoen Airport or simply Gardermoen, the airport services the capital and most populous city of Norway and was opened in October 1998. The airport connects Oslo to over 160 destinations worldwide with the domestic network mainly operated by SAS and Norwegian. Many of the international destinations are around Europe, so you can frequent popular destinations such as Dublin, Edinburgh, Prague and Lisbon. The airport is a busy scene with animated vehicles such as buses, service vehicles and trains. Animated and functional pushbacks replace the sim default model with a bespoke one modelled on the real-life tug. Airline codes have been assigned to gates to ensure the best experience when using 3rd party AI traffic apps. Orbx have recently released their latest scenery improvement pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator - and the next pack within their Great Britain Landmarks series covers The North! With 600+ Points of Interest spanning from the Isle of Man up to the Out Skerries, there is LOTS to explore. As we see in this very short first look video, introducing the addon to you, Edinburgh is a wonderful example. We pass the Forth Bridge and Queensferry Crossing, where we can see the HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Astute docked in the distance in the Rosyth Dockyard, before heading low and slow directly over Edinburgh City - showing off Murrayfield, Edinburgh Castle, Arthurs Seat and Holyrood and Calton Hill as examples. There is plenty to explore, and I was keen not to show off too many POIs here! Then stretch this example across the entire region - including cities like Glasgow and you'll see how vast this addon is. It's not just for those low and slow GA pilots among us either. The approaches/departure in and out of Edinburgh and Glasgow are even more detailed thanks to this addon - so it's great for those of us who love the airlines too! Prague Airport was described as one of the largest in Europe when it was completed in 1937, and has since been through a few transformations, including the renaming of the Airport to Václav Havel Airport Prague in 2012. Prague Airport has about 50 airlines, connecting Prague directly with over 120 destinations in the world, including Orbx airports such as EGNT Newcastle, LDSP Split and LIEO Olbia. Today, we take a real close up look at the latest offering from ORBX, produced by developer Marcus Nyberg in collaboration with JetStream Designs. And the result is pretty spectacular! Weighing in at just over 6GB, this scenery has it all! Just listen to the Jetways! Emminently configurable via the CONFIG tab in the Orbx Central install menu, you can select or de-select many things like airport traffic aqnd other options to help with framerates - although I found very little issues at all moving the camera all over the scenery. IMPORTANT NOTE - DISABLE THE DEFAULT ARLANDA AIRPORT (ESSA) THAT COMES WITH WORLD UPDATE NORDICS! The project is huge and while we look at a lot of features in the scenery, there is still much left for you to discover. As with many sceneries, this one also really comes to life after sunset, with stunning night lighting!
